Dangerous Threads 1 & 1/2 x 72 Dark Brown Latigo Leather Strip

This item is cut in our own shop from thick, Premium Grade 9/11 ounce Domestic Hides tanned in the USA. Latigo leather is cowhide leather that is combination tanned, first undergoing chrome tanning and then vegetable tanning. Due to this oil/wax infusion and partial chrome tanning, latigo leather is moderately flexible, less rigid than full vegetable tans but more rigid than full chrome tans. Because of its weight and tanning process, latigo is among the most expensive cattle hide leathers.

The product being offered is a single (1) 1 1/2" x 72" Dark Brown Latigo Strip. Latigo is usually infused with oils and waxes, and techniques such as hot-stuffing, wet-stuffing, and fat liquoring have been devised to increase the amount of oil and wax the hide can hold. This Latigo Strip is great for a variety of outdoor and industrial applications, including all outdoor gear, rigging gear, tie straps, belts, dog leads, and more.

In Western saddlery, latigos are the straps used to secure the cinches to the saddle rigging.
